Depending on Official Lazy Lake Day Shirt the wiring set up in your place it isn’t necessary to have it done professionally, in both of my houses where I’ve had smart setups the thermostats were basically plugged and play as far as the wires not going into different receptacles in the harness/mount. I love that my thermostat knows when I leave and switches to away mode automatically. It doesn’t save as much money as it could because we still cool a little for the animals, but way better than a dumb thermostat.
